He has some experience and has played against boys much older. ( He just turned 14) And did very well against them. He is also a good student. He is just starting with weights. And hasn't been timed in the 40 yet.

He's huge! I think that physically, he has the size to be competitive at the next level, and he isn't finished growing yet. It depends on so much more than his size and 40 time, like his technique, his awareness, and his intelligence on the field. I think he should continue to focus on his grades and keep working hard in practice to make himself the best and most rounded specimen possible. If he continues to perform well in school and on the field, I think he has an excellent chance to make a scholarship.

Holy ****, that sounds like me a year from now. I'm currently 5'9-5'10 200 pounds... (I thought that said 235 pounds on your post) =p

But to tell the truth, I play defensive tackle on my team against kids who are 50 pounds more than me, and I can teach them a lesson on defensive line any day. It doesn't matter about how big he is, it's how much he puts into it and cares...

And yeah like someone said location matters, some spots are just more into Football and some aren't... hard to explain, I guess I just know. (Is it a guy thing?) lol

Also, I almost guarantee that an NCAA scout WILL be at one of your son's high school football games.

On the short side for a division 1 college OL but if he is strong enough and puts on a few more pounds in the weight room maybe a division 2 or 3 school.

Hes got good height for a freshman but if he hasn't been working with weights it sounds like hes just over weight. Its good hes lifting, he'll probably be able to turn most of the weight to muscle. If hes got the drive and determination he'll defiantly get a scholarship.

get him in the gym and get him ripped because if hes fit at that size at 14 he should be a beast!! also it depends if football is a big thing in your area cuz the scouts go to where football is big and talent is high. lastly tell him to stay out of trouble and keep his grades up because tht can also get a scout interested or not, tht could be the determining factor.

depends all on talent. also make him try other sports to make him more versatile. 14 is a good age to start weights because if you start too early it could stun growth. also location is a huge factor, dnt send him to a school that isnt too concern with football..

He is a pretty big guy.

You have to remember, despite a scholarship, only 1 out of 10,000 kids get to go pro from every state.
