i love a good plot, but not one where you have 4983743 minor characters and many sub groups that leads you feeling disconnected from the other characters. i love a plot that takes a turn and i go wow, did not see THAT one coming.

Battle Royale.
The novel and film of the same name which the manga is based on also leave you with something to think about. You can't help wonder what you yourself would do if you were in the same situations as the students in the book. Forced to kill classmates you've befriended over the years. A powerful piece of work.

Saiyuki. Yes, I do admit that this is my most favorite manga. But, I love it because it really shows that people who come from totally different backgrounds and pasts can work together to meet their goals. I love a lot of the sayings that Sanzo says about life. Some of them are really funny while others really make you ponder about life in general.

Gantz - We still don't know the meaning of the Black Ball, where did it came from or who created it or why was created in first place. Also with the appearance of the new team it raises the question if more than one black exists.
