It is not Compaq or HP computers... (HP bought out Compaq years ago) .
The best one is a hand made system that is built to your specifications... and I don't mean Dell either, I asked for a certain size hard drive and they told me they don't install them. I went locally and had a system built for me to my specs for around $700.00 a dell with lower specs would have cost me about $1000.

I love Sony for some reason. I know they're not just a computer company, but there Vaio computers are awesome. Other than that, I like Dell. Especially their new notebooks.

1. dell
2. hp/compaq
3. others
4 last if others are too high, emachines.
*note* my dad's company just went through two emachines with bad internal components and emchaine/gateway did not take blame for the problem.

HP are great for the price, Alienware is overpriced, Toshiba are supervene quality and the best (but very expansive) is a Sony VAIO.

E-Machines are owned by Gateway and are their "budget" PC...in other words...junk. Stay away from the E-machines...please, for your sake.
