Wow, that would make a very good line for a poem. I think, you are asking if our Conscious, will eventually disappear. Well, if that it what you are asking, then I will answer it. Then answer is, only if you allow it. That is a very good metaphor, but over time, it will fade, and become cloudy, but it will never disappear.

Looking at the rhythm of the world's progress (or should I say lack of?) today, yes.
In time, our already poor perception will probably be eroded so yes, it's only a matter of time until the remaining bits of consciousness will disappear.

Assuming that 'consciousness' refers to one's collective knowledge, and realizing that 'time' is merely a concept of a perception, it logically follows that 'time' is, in itself, bent to dissolve in our'consciences :D. Also, for footprints to dissolve in the sand, water must come over - what more to life is there than Consciousness and Time?

I think it already has. I am just talking about my own personal experiences. I find the wealthiest to be the most dishonest , corrupt, deceitful and hypocritical.

My consciousness dissolves every night as I drift off into sleep. It is "reborn" each day when 'I' wake up.
Dissolving consciousness doesn't concern me at all.

according to some, you don't so much dissolve as blend. i don't see it. it would be too restful. we're right back to getting what we expect.
