Do you like characters cast with celebrities (for the character type and celebrity status), or with actors/actresses that have not gotten or are just getting their break so you can focus on the story?

You know it really does not make a difference. The only thing I want to see in a movie is how good that movie is and is it worth buying later. Sometimes you see new actors/actresses that will be big later or they may flop. I also seen well known actors/actresses in movies that flopped so I don't think the actor/actresses is the real issue it is how good the movie is.

Other than the preview of a movie, the reputation of an actor/ actress in a movie is the main thing that makes me decide to go see certain movies. So I guess the answer would be well known, but not in every case...

There are only a few actors/actresses who I will go to a movie just because they are in it. Mostly I look at the story rather that the cast.

I like well know actors / actresses. You know what to expect from them. Like for example I know if Denzel Washington is in a certain movie then I can expect a good performance and a good story. The same goes for Will Smith.

I like completely unknown actors/actresses. 'Cause then it's not like: "Hey, I didn't know Jude Law was the president of the U.S." And it makes it seem more realistic. Instead of thinking: "What are the chances Halley Barry ends up having to stop a missile from destroying the moon?" And I replace that thought with: "Huh, given the situation, it's completely likely that this woman I've never even seen before has to stop a missile from destroying the moon."

Other than sequels, I can't think of a time I went to see a movie specifically because of a star, and it's nice to see a fresh face now and then. On the other hand, if a particular celebrity has made abrasive political comments publicly, I've been known to shy away from their films.

It really depends on the actor. If the actor/actress is good it doesn't matter if they're famous (you will believe any roll they're put into if you're good).

If they are only decent or bad actors/actresses, I'd rather not know them... Then you can just accept the rol as presented and not think about previous rolls.

As long as it isn't a low budget movie that sucks, because I love graphics that are believable. I don't care who is in it, I'm gonna watch the graphics and the story line no matter if it's Tom Cruise, John Cena or the girl that has never played in anything before that was signed on by an agent six months ago.

Usually, I go with the celebrity cast because then I can expect a quality movie for them to be associated with it. I like it when the role is so well cast, one couldn't imagine anyone else in the part. As an example, can you imagine anyone else besides Tom Hanks in "Cast Away?" Unknowns can be hit or miss.

I like watching movies with both. Because If i know the actors, i will know what to expect from them. For hardly known actors i will get to see what they are capable of doing. That's the first way to suceed anyway.
