i went to john robert powers studio. People on here say its a scam. How could that be when they so much big celebrity's with them? If its a scam then how come so many celebrity's are with them?? I just dont get it

I did the same thing a few years ago..... I was told it was a scam and I never went back even though I got a call back.

Hon, John Robert Powers does NOT have celebrities with them. Anyone can hang up photographs of actors and say the person is a client.
Think about it. Celebrities have very important New York City and Los Angeles Talent Agencies.
So NO JRP does NOT have celebrity clients.
It's part of the tricks they do to you when you go to their office.
They have no celebrity clients!
They want you to give them thousands of dollars and you will NOT learn anything from the SCAM, same as Barbizon!
They will have your money and you will have nothing.
You can't learn acting skills at Barbizon.

I used to teach at JRP and my good friend was the education director for them. JRP is and is not a scam at the same time. It is not a scam if you are going for basic training, but it is a scam if you are going to be "discovered". You will have a better chance of getting work by signing up with a casting director, usually there is no fee, or by signing with an agent. Remember, an agent only gets paid when you get work so there is a drive for them to get you work. JRP charges you upfront, alot of money if you ask me, so therefore there is not so great a demand to get you work or get you seen by agents. My motto is, if you pay upfront, it is not worth your time. Hope this helps and good luck in the future!

How do you know the celebritys are really with them?
When they get there awards or are interviewed do they say "thank you John Robert Powers" if your going to really be in this Biz be prepared, people lie, a lot.
They will say anything to you to close the deal and get your cash!

You could get success, but you are robbes of thousands of dollars. There are cheaper ways that could get you the same amount of success. Also, you are not supposed to pay for an agent. So it is sort of a scam. So is Barbizon

Nothing to understand. More than one celebrity has sued them for using their names. Those people are not represented by JRP. Do what you want. But believe me, they are the biggest scammers in the country.
