Religious is performing traditional rituals. Singing, for example, is spiritual. It goes straight to the heavens.

religious is following a prescribed set of doctrines and traditions, spiritual is more individually defined, sometimes just an attempt to rebel, i think

If you're spiritual you don't necessarily believe in a god. If you're religious you always believe in a god.

in my mind religious is going to church and following the rules handed down by the church , spirtitual in my mind is having a personal relationship with god or nature or whatever you believe in not necessaryly jesus
