Like Joseph said, The Palm is outstanding. Antares does have an amazing view, but I wasn't all that impressed by their food.

But I would really have to recommend Stephan Pyle's Restaurant...I loved his old place (Star Canyon) and he's done nothing to diminish his reputation with this new place.

Then there is always The Mansion on Turtle Creek, if you are willing to venture just a wee bit outside of the downtown area.

What do you like? If you like Steakhouses, then The Palm is good. Its in the West End, as is Morton's. Morton's is near the 6th Floor museum. There also is the restaurant at the top of the Reunion Tower, Antares I think it is. I could be wrong about the name though. The view can't be beat, but its expensive.

Newport's is also good. They have good seafood, and as an added bonus It has a massive well right in the center of it. You'll get the story if you ask your server. Its very close to the West End.

But if none of those appeal to you, then you can always go to

www.guidelive.com and you can find restaurant reviews there. You can select the area, the price range, and star rating too.

Most of the "really nice" restaurants in Dallas are north, up towards Addison, or around Northpark.

III Forks is always an excellent choice. It has a Dallas address, even though it is up along the tollway.

The French Room in the Adolfo is downtown. Excellent food.

Well no offense to the others, but my definition of "nice" doesn't match most of the others except the guy right above me, as Ferre is great and so is Craft.

The Cheesecake Factory does not belong on anyone's list of "really nice" restaurants unless you also include Chili's & Bennigans on your list.

I would also recommend Abacus (the lobster shooters are a must) and Stephan Pyles self-named restaurant is great for interior Mexican food. Arcodoro Pomodoro is a great upscale Italian restaurant in Stephan Pyles old location on Routh Street.

I live in Downtown Dallas.

My new favorite restaurant downtown is Craft at the W hotel.

It's amazing!

It is expensive, but you said you wanted really nice.

I also like Fuse for sushi.

I also like Ferre in uptown for Italian - awesome pasta, and reasonably priced.

I'm not really familiar with Dallas, but try the Cheesecake Factory.
