How do you look after an iguana or other reptile. I think they are really nice but want to be smart and find out their needs first and what they eat. Do they bite and can you hold them etc?

Heres a great web site where you can look at care sheets , pictures of cages and talk to reptile owners on each forum.I have raised many snakes , iguanas and a Uromastyx Mali lizard for over 20 years . Do a lot of research to find the right reptile for you and your life style . Remember that you will spend a lot more money on getting your cage set up than for the reptile . Iguanas get very large and need huge cages . You can hold them but they have sharp claws and can get aggressive as they get older . You might think about a Gecko to start out with .

If the previous proprietor says it incredibly is an iguana, then it probable is by using the fact they probable bought it at a puppy save the place it exchange into actually pointed out as an iguana. whether, if she isn't particular that it incredibly is an iguana, and while you're noticing that it does not have key valuable factors mutually with a dewlap, then the only element i will think of that it must be is a chinese language water-dragon, which seems very equivalent to an iguana. seek for photos of a water-dragon and study. desire this enables.

My recommendations are www.anapsid.org and www.reptilerooms.com (go to the forums). Read everything you can about a variety of species and then you will be informed about what the best pet for you will be. You are being very smart by doing your homework first! Too many people impulsively buy a reptile, take it home, then find out they had no idea what they were getting into! Good luck! :)

Why don't you read some books, instead of coming here and expecting somebody to puke up care sheets for every reptile?
