Yes, we are real, but we are not like the hollowood witches. Being a witch is to some of us more about religion than magick.

I know I am! I am a witch, not Wiccan. ALL witches are pagan, not all pagans are witches. Ravenwolf is a poor example if you are looking for VALID literature on witches, try Scott Cunningham instead. We are not anything like what you see in movies or on TV. We are normal people who just happen to have an unconventional spiritual path. You can't tell who is or isn't a witch by looking at them (if you can then you are probably dealing with a fluffy bunny wanna be). We could be your neighbor. Our children go to the same schools as everyone else's kids, we shop at the same stores and eat at the same restaurants. All in all we are no different except most of us are extremely into environmental issues, but then so are a lot of people who are not witches!

The label Witch is the invention of the Christians. Though now, it has accrued honor because of many who have worn it proudly in adversity. What has always been is the crafts. Historically these have been many, but here are a few.

Dowsing
Midwifery
Healer
Bone setter
Herbalist
Maker of potions
Candle maker
Animal caller
Scientists
Teachers of philosophy
Psychic
Empath
Maker of poultices
Librarians
Finder of Ley Lines
All of those within the above crafts have been called witches by Christianity and many executed for practicing their craft. There is neither white nor black in all these crafts.

In this day of Neo reconstitutions the title Witch has incurred honor from the actions of many who use it as their own.

Having a will that is free is utterly futile unless you have freedom of action.

witches and or the study of witchcraft is real, be it all areas and beliefs in paganism Some people inherit a gift that makes them more apt to fallow a magical path, and that goes for some Christians too, which confuses them that they have powers they do not understand, and through knowledge they discover the bond with the elementals. Just because someone does not believe does not make it so.

Yes, witches are as real as you are.

There have been witches in my family for at least 600 years; it's an ancient tradition that's passed down from generation to generation.

Then along came 'Wicca', 'Buffy', and 'Charmed', and suddenly 'witch' is a fashionable, fluffy alternative way of life.....
Thanks for that, guys...

Witches are real. They may or may not be Wiccan. They may or may not be pagan. Not all Wiccans are witches. Not all pagans are witches. Wicca is a religion, pagan is the umbrella under which Wicca falls, and witchcraft is one of the practices that may or may not be a part of their lives.

There is a lot of confusing information out there but please remember that Wicca and witchcraft are not one in the same and the two terms are not interchangeable.

If you mean Wiggle-Your-Nose witches like Samantha Stevens, no. There are many people who practice magick who consider themselves witches. Many of them in the USA are Wiccans, a harmless group of neo-pagans. Wiccans are very diverse - as are all pagans. I myself consider myself pagan, but not a witch. Not all witches are Wiccan, because anyone can practice magick. Your best bet would be do some research on-line or go to your nearest bookstore or library. There are lots of books on the subject from actual historical witches to modern spirituality to witch-crap (very lurid and silly spellbooks) to fictional witches.

They certainly are. They dont fly around on broomsticks, in fact, there are probably several where you work or shop. We have several nurses at our hospital that are certified witches.
We have a shop in Long Beach California that caters to witchcraft. There are good and bad witches and it's really hard to tell one from the other, just by looking at them. Do a little research, it's an interesting subject.

Yes witches are real. They practice an ancient art or religion called Wicca. In Salem Mass. Where the witch trials were held there is a lady who calls herself the Official Witch of Salem.
