poised
The countries of Europe which belong to the EU have taken the first, and most important, step towards the creation of a single entity; the countries that have not yet joined or have not been allowed to join, should begin to intensely invest in any and all methods necessary to be allowed to join this union. It is only with the creation of a single fiscal entity that Europe's individual countries can become a whole. Once that is completed, and the general populace is given an acclimation period, then true unification can begin.
This is a lesson for the rest of the world. The first step to true unifying globalization is a single economic currency, designed to make all trade equivalent. This is why I say Europe is poised--they are standing on the brink of a truly momentous event, one that will hopefully change not only those countries for the better, but give a positive image to the concept of global unification and cooperation.

Aww, heck I was going to say, "European", of course that's too easy--how about, "International" --no even better.....but of course, it must be, "Continental".
