I would opt for a Colt since it was the dominant gun of the times - - - and the Silver Bullets came from ore mined in a mine owned by the Ranger and his Brother Dan---

He carried an 1873 Colt Peacemaker. His bullets came from a silver mine owned by the Lone Ranger and his brother Dan. Neat information and I wish he really existed. :)

In the TV series, he carried two Colt 1873 Single Action Army revolvers. AFAIR, the caliber was never mentioned, but they were probably .44 or .45.
