If your daughter likes the names you mentioned, why not let her use the names she likes?

And if you're wondering about snails, go talk to the people in the place you purchased the goldfish about which kinds will be appropriate for the tank. Yes, you can keep them, but the goldfish will get large enough to possibly eat small snails.

i have 1-1/2 years experience with freshwater fish and i think you might need to know a few things about goldfish before you purchase them.

goldfish can grow between 6" to a foot in a short time. goldfish require a minimum tank size of 30 gallons for 1 goldfish alone. add 10 gallons per extra goldfish that you wish to keep. this will bring you up to a 55 gallon tank that you will need if she is getting three of them. goldfish create more waste than any other fish that can cause your ammonia levels to rise severely if not kept in a large tank.

you can have snails (a plecostomus or two if working with a large tank) with the goldfish.

If you are getting 3 goldfishes instead of one, forget the 10 gallon tank, you will need at least a 20 gallon for them
And if you want to put snails in there you need a heater, because they are tropical and need heat between 76-80 degrees

Hope that helps
Good luck

The ammonia that goldfish excrete will kill the snails. But as long as you do regular partial water changes, snails do a good job cleaning up algae and excess fish food. However, snails themselves poop alot too! :-) As for names, I have no idea! Just go with the names that she likes. :-)

Those are really great names, I think, and they match... although, you could keep it all Japanese and name the Tuna fish (lol) Tekka-maki (tuna roll) or tempura instead. I think snails are fine in with the goldfish... they'll eat the algae, and make less cleaning for you. :)
