Go to Graham Central Station, UTSA, or Club Planeta. La Cantera and anything above 1604 by I10 is all upper class hang out area.

If you are looking to locate places where singles congregate around SATX try picking up a copy of The Current, they have a very nice listing of clubs, band dates, plays etc... they also put out a Best of SA issue annually which I think has a best place to meet singles listing.
We used to have another entertainment Magazine in SA called the San Antonio Singles Magazine (kind of like the Current) though it was sold by it's original publishers and the new owner turned it into an Alternative Lifestyle mag that didn't last.
I actually met my wife at a function advertised in the SA Singles Magazine.

You might try USAA. I think there is a University of Texas at San Antonio campus on the northwest side.

It depends on your age, Riverwalk, North Star Mall, La Cantera Shopping Center. You can try Club Rio.

They're all downtown. The Northwest side is for happy yuppie families.
