I currently have 12 pet mice and would love a pet rat, but they are banned here. So I'm not afraid of them at all! I like them way better then other rodents! Yesterday I bought 2 siamese mice! They are Ruby and Saffire!

No I've never been scared of them, they are beautiful critters, and I even love wild rats. Plus mice are cute. If I didn't love rats then I wouldn't be getting some soon! They are lovely and I wish everyone could see that because they are so loving, intelligent etc etc and not to mention clean, I hate people who say hey are dirty things, they aren't I agree with Sheena, no rat is dirty well apart from wild rats, because of people throwing away dirty things, and if you had no home and here was lots of food and water then you would choose the dirty place over the clean place with nothing to eat, wouldn't you? I know I would. Plus, they have very complex social structures which makes them more like a dog than a rodent, but better because they won't ever get bored of you, they bond with you easily because if a wild rat started biting when it was in a bad mood, then it would soon be ousted from the group, which makes them he least aggressive animal ever, I could keep going on and on about rats but I'll just say a few more things. My friends rats are lovely two little boys, and she can already get them to stay on her shoulders, head and even stay in her feet when she is walking (none of this is cruel because a rat wouldn't do something it wasn't comfortable with, and anyway she loves animals and wouldn't hurt them anyway). She plays hide and seek with her two boys and also plays tag with them, they love it and probably wouldn't ever harm her. And once again agreeing with Sheena, lots of woman/ girls keep them as pets like my friend, she adores them and she is thinking about buying some more, because she loves them so much! Don't completely rule out rats as dirty, horrible, disgusting, ugly, yucky, smelly or unclean animals, as it just isn't true, of course a wild rat is different to domesticated because they already have a leader to follow and they aren't used to human company :) My opinions don't dis them

I think they're cute as pets, but as invaders/pests they freak me out more than anything. I act like a total idiot when I hear the sounds of rodents. We have shrews in the aluminum siding on my house. I particularly dislike shrews. I'd rather have 10 mice or rats than 1 shrew -- especially a northern short-tailed shrew.

I am not afraid of them, though one has never snuck into my house, but if it did, like when I was in a hospital and a mouse got in, I was fine with it.
Rats are very smart critters and mice are too cute.

the rats here are the size of small dogs. I'll bet you wouldn't think they are so cute if you realized they helped spread the bubonic plague a long time ago, and they carry disease.
