You either need a dual output graphics card such as

or two graphics cards

right first you need a graphics card with 2 outputs.
these days they tend to be digital type sockets - so epending on the monitors you may need adapters - or to purchase a graphics card with the types of socket for the monitors. there are a few difrent types of digital monitor socket - so have a good look at the sokets first before buying an adapter so you can see that it will fit oki.jsut to be to be sure.

presuming oyu now have the card installed - the omnitors attached and the drivers installed. once windows has booted (I presume XP) any where on the screen - right click and select propertys. then select settings on the display properties dialog box. you should see it shows 2 moniters depicted by 2 boxxes with a 1 and a 2. select the second one and select thte option 'extend my desktop to this screen' - select apply.

job done

you will need to replace your graphics card with a twin output one, that has two outputs for monitors, or, if you have a spare slot on the mothrboard, add a cheap graphics card, a cheap one will do, but you then need separate software, to jointly run two monitors, readily available, and not very expensive. Such software will let the mouse literally roll from one screen to another. an old commercial program, used in video editing, for just such purposes was called "twindows".
with the dedicated double output card, you'll get this software.
either way, your only (presumably) running normal, web surfing/word proccessing graphics, so these cards are cheap as chips!
Ps. if its a laptop....sorry, no chance. You cant add spare ports, physically to the case!

You need a video card with 2 outputs. The driver settings should then sort it out for you.
