I need to know so when I'm somewhere, I want to know the forecast and DON'T ASK ME TO CHECK MY COMPUTER!

You make a good point as we don't always have a computer available. Maybe it would be a good idea to come up with a 911 number for weather emergencies. I know in Arizona there are frequently flash flood warnings but if you were out driving around or hiking you wouldn't be able to see these warnings.

Also it would be nice if your cell phone could automatically give GPS location.

Actually something like this happened a couple years ago just north of Payson Arizona. Some people were visiting the Natural Bridge and I guess they were out hiking around the trails they have there. A huge gush of water almost swept them away. They ended up ok but their safe return was cutoff for several hours until the water subsided.

Just thought of another...A couple guys hiking around Death Valley were killed in a flash flood. Maybe if they had a cell phone and a number to call maybe someone could have advised them of the correct evasive action.
