Well.....First; careful, dragon...I was on Tanya's side....>:0 Maybe someone will give Tyson rabies. ;) Second; I hate football, so...but I'm willing to let all the rest of you enjoy it, so y'all let me enjoy Harry, 'kay? Third; The polyps are the single best thing that's happened to the shrub since he stole the office of President. (I don't have to listen to it to enjoy it; and believe me, I'm enjoying it..."how appropos" as as annoying co-worker of mine used to say.) And fourth; I can't say why you have a television, but EVENTUALLY there will be a national election. If "we" elect the devil himself this time; it will be a step up. (Strictly my opinion...and about 3/4 of the country's; by now....) and besides; don't you need the T.V to screen DVD's?

This is a really good question and one that I have come across before in my wanderings as a Witch and a Harry Potter fan. The difference between the magic in Harry's world and the magic in the real world that Witches/Pagans/Wiccans tap into is that Harry's magic is immediate and tangible. If he shouts: "Accio Firebolt!" the thing comes winging it's way to him. As a witch, if I want something, I have to work and plan and get precise and cast a spell for it, making sure that the spell itself is clean and that I believe I will truly acheive what I am seeking. JK Rowlings spells and charms are often derived from Latin. I don't use Latin in any of my spells as I don't know it and could unintentionally do harm by using a language I do not understand. Harry Potter has barely any religion in it whatsoever. Nowhere is there mention of God or even a Goddess. She achieves this balance perfectly between the mundane world and the magical one. It's like the land of Faery - it's there, but just beyond our ability to see unless we know how to access it. All of the Wizarding world is there, but the Muggles cannot comprehend or understand it. If you think about it, this happens in real life. If you go to a large park, and there are normal, everyday folks there, walking around, running with their dog, having a picnic, that's all it is to them. But put a witch or pagan or wiccan in the same place, and they can feel the magic of the park itself. The wind in the trees, the growing grass, the earth beneath, the song of the birds, everything is magic. So to wrap up this nice little essay I have written (LOL) I will say that Harry's magic is instananeous and tangible, but that REAL magic takes time and practice and focus to acheive. Blessings!
