Working out can alleviate cramps, yes.
Excessive working out can, indeed, delay your cycle and, in extreme cases, cause the dang thing to just disappear. But that's in extreme cases. You'd have to be doing nothing all day, every day but working out to get it to completely vanish.
Your period can be delayed, too, by stressing over the fact that it's delayed. Breathe, relax, work out less. You're probably not pregnant. Keep track of the number of days since your last period, if it exceeds 40 you should go see a Dr. Something may be wrong.

Yes exercise will help with cramps but no it won't upset your normal cycle. If you are paranoid because your cycle is late that is most likely the cause. Relax and just enjoy your free month. Everyone tends to skip a menstrual period once in a while.

Yes, working out can help cramps. No, if you exercise safely and not excessively, it will not impair or change your menstrual cycle. People who exercise non-stop and diet sometimes lose their periods. You need a certain amount of body fat in order to maintain your period- so if you eat well, exercise reasonably, and take care of yourself, you should be fine.

It would have to be serious intense exercise, like a professional athlete...a couple of hours a day.

what on earth are you paranoid about? If you have had a period since your last sexual contact, you are not pregnant.
You likely just have a hormonal imbalance, if you are all concerned about it, see a doctor.

Strangely enough, I drink Red Bull and my cramps go away! I drink a lot of it thanks to my job, but it works for me!
Try some low-impact stretching. Didn't work for me but does for my sister!
