No one forces you to respond, American Man. And no one asked for your abuse, either.

So, truthisback, the ability to act like an independent, sovereign state has nothing to do with our moral authority?

To people like you, "American" Man, everyone who critizes Israel is an anti-Semite. Your extremism makes your criticism seem trite.

gunrzm8, you are correct that most educated people know slavery when they see it. America would not be facing the threat that it does, if it were not for its continual support for Israel that makes a joke of our own values and history.

Moral Authority?

2007-07-21 17:06:22 · answer #2 · answered by gone 7 · 1 1

Since Israel has behaved admirably and with restraint in it's 60 year struggle with islamic fanatics who are dedicated to the eradication of the jews, there is no reason for America not to defend and assist them. Both nations never lost their moral authority, so there is nothing to regain. Israel is a shining beacon of righteousness to the rest of the world. We will always support them as long as the thugs surrounding them keep making trouble in the middle east.

First of all, I as an American will continue to support Israel whether my government does or not. Israel is a wonderful nation. We are not slaves to them but merely their friends. The support is not blind it is rational and also a two way street. Here is a link to help educate people on some of the wonderful things about Israel.

America had lost moral authority before Israel was created.

America and Israel have a special relationship.
We are using Israel for our own gain, because of where Israel is located.
Also, Israel is using us for protection and we gave it to them.
Israel has the fourth largest military in the world and American taxpayers paid for it.

I believe that the U.S. ESTABLISHES moral authority by supporting Israel. Nobody supports everything that Israel does, but they are a far better choice to support than those that surround them.
I take it that by criticizing Israel, you support Hammas and Hezbollah? You support Syria? Then you also support terrorism and those that strap bombs to their children and send them out to kill other innocent children. You also support kidnappers and murderers. Are you supporting the theory that Israel cannot retaliate against attacks against it's own citizens and territory?
Israel is a democracy surrounded by dictatorships and terrorists. My support goes to the democracy.
If you believe that the U.S. is a slave to Israel or Israel a slave to the U.S., then you must be a graduate in good standing of the U.S. public school system followed by a degree from one of the many fine institutes of higher learning that spout nothing but hatred and vitriol against your own country. That is, of course, assuming that your ARE an American?

It has nothing to do with Israel. We have no moral authority because we are not needed. When there is a crisis then Europe will bestow moral authority upon the United States while it is asking for our help.

No we have gone to war for Israel, and they seem to wield an undue influence over Washington

No, because that makes the USA look allot like the republican party. They always defend the corrupt and or criminal activity of one of their members.

Our moral authority derives from the freedom our government allows its individual citizens.
