.....That's not bad! A mood is a combination of emotions, such as fear + worry. Or confidence + anticipation. The emotions/feelings continue for a period until the situation plays itself out. Yes...that's a nice way of putting it!

Moods are also a long emotional state, as you pointed out, as opposed to more temporary emotional states called affects. Moods are usually described as depressive, manic, euphoric, euthymic, and others.

Yes, excellent...
Humor, mind,strain,temper,tone. The state of mind in which an emotion, or set of emotions gain ascendancy.
A moody persons behavior can be erratic and actions unpredictable.
Temperamental,fickle, inconstant,mercurial, whimsical, unstable,broody.
A melancholy mood could be induced by the sight of ancient ruins, or your old home-place...thank you!
