Look on the filter for a flow adjustment control. It's usually on the top of the intake tube. You can use that to reduce the flow a bit and prevent it from hurting your fish.
Another solution would be to cover the intake with a sponge from a sponge filter, you can get those fairly cheap at most better pet stores.

If the fish have been in ordinary terms swimming *close to* the filter out, i might say that they only like the present, yet because of the fact they are honestly getting "caught to the filter out intake," it relatively is exceedingly clean that the present is in simple terms too sturdy for them, and that they don't seem to be sturdy adequate swimmers to sidestep being sucked in. some filters have adjuatable output. If yours does, set it on the slowest circulate of water. If yours doesn not have any water circulate adjustment, there are nevertheless approaches of reducing the fee and quantity of the water circulate. probable the acceptable way may well be to place a foam "prefilter" over the water intake tube of the filter out. If that doesn't decrease the present adequate, use a thicker foam prefilter, or one with smaller pores (the two one will further limit the circulate of water.

On most filters, there's a flow control on/near the top. Set it to the lowest suction so it won't suck up your fish. Another option is to get a small media bag (with some holes) and tie it to the intake of your filter. That way water can get in, but not fish.

Put up a fishy warning sign next to the filter with big orange cones etc. Seriously, yes it is sad that they do that but I suppose when your brain isnt all that big you dont equate suction to death. Reduce the size of your filter or perhaps get some plants to put around the filter so the fish wont just swim right into it......somewhat of a buffer zone for them. Good luck.

Hey, I remember this. But with the addition of the diffusers, they don't get suctioned to death. If they are stuck after the diffuser is on it, they were already dead.
