We have some beta fish leftover from decorating at a wedding reception. They were swimming in bowls of calla lillies, very pretty.

So now the wedding is over, what to do with them? I don't have a fish tank.

Beta fish can survive in a small bowl of fresh water (don't put them together though) you can keep them in a cup of water if need be or keep them in the calla lilly bowls. IF you dont want to clean the water every couple of weeks and feed them everyday try to give them away to neibors or family members ...but you dont need a tank. If you put them all together they will kill each other

You could do several things
Keep one of them and get him a 2.5 gallon tank with filter and heater
For the others, give them to friends or family and tell them the same thing, but remember that you can't put 2 males in one tank, they will kill each other
Try to sell them on ebay or craigslist
Or ask your neighbors if they want to have one, maybe for their kids
But don't forget to tell them that they need at LEAST a 2.5 gallon tank to be happy and healthy
When you set up a tank, treat the water with water conditioner for bettas, turn the heater to 78 degrees and let the tank stand for at least 24 hours, that way your heater can regulate the water, put the fish into a bag with the water they are in right now and float it in your tank for at least 30 min that your betta can acclimate to the new water temperature
Do partial waterchanges of 25% weekly with a gravelsiphon to keep your tank clean
When you get gravel for your tank, don't forget to rinse it well
Feed your betta 3-6 pellets a day

Hope that helps
Good luck

Give them back to the petstore,
Give them to fish keepers.
DO NOT MIX THEM IN THE SAME TANK WHATEVER YOU DO.
And in future treat them as living things not decorations.

Take them to your local fish store and ask them if they will buy them back from you. Many stores will buy back from from people, although they will only give you 20-30% of their selling price.
