keep walking. you should not judge persons by their appearance.
It may be the nicely dressed ones you need to look out for (i'm just saying)

Do you automatically assume that they are thugs? There's a high school about 1/2 a block away from here, and there is often a group of thuggish LOOKING kids walking one way or the other. I just keep walking. Alot more often than not, they acknowledge an adult without being disrespectful. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Let's say, when you walk down a street, and a group of thugs walk towards you. Then this is easy to deal with, you just keep yourself calm and natural. In front of them, you don't show that you are being threatened, just pretend that you don't see them at all, and peacefully walk away from them.

this has happened lots of times when i was a bit younger. it's kind of hard to avoid. my cousin and i were walking home one night and saw a crew like 7 deep. we couldn't turn around cause they already noticed us and if we turned around they would know somethings up...we were definitely not going to walk right past them...so we crossed the street incognito to at least avoid direct confrontation...of course it didn't work. so 2 come up to us asking what we write. bla bla this and that. and tell us if they ever 'catch us slippin again we'll blast yo ***' so we don't say **** on account of there being 7 of them...walk to the corner and bone out before they all caught up...point is...when we first noticed them we could have probably turned around and walk away fast and if they kept coming...run

Uhm keep walking, but there aren't many thugs where I live in this part of Cali so I don't have anything to really worry about.

As long as they are going in the other direction, that's cool by me. I would keep walking, perhaps just a little faster in case they decide to turn around.

clutch my purse and get into some ti-quan-do! LOL! I'd kick their butts if they lay a hand on me!!! LOL!
I'd actually have a heart attack. The thugs would call the emergancy room and i'd thank them for saving me when they were my cause.
