I'm not a fan of "The Bowl" either that for many of the reasons pointed out already. That said ...
You can get a bowl that is set up with a heater and filter at most of the chain stores as a package deal. I think the problem here is "The Dreaded Bowl" it self! Alone they are horrid and prolly more work to keep clean than they are worth.Which aren't much , you could get one for prolly $5. But for a few bux more you could have a nice 2 to 5 gallon tank and way happier fish! Just make sure the fish your putting in that little tank stay little! ..
And only One male to a tank they don't call um Fighting Fish for nothing! If you want to see your male flare get a small mirror and hang it OUTSIDE the tank. When he sees himself he witll go into his fighting mode and attack! But don't leave the mirror you'll just stress him out!
One of the reasons Betta survive in "The Bowl", they are Labyrinth Fish..Betta can extract oxygen from the air through a special organ so they can live in low oxygen environment that other fish wouldn't. Thats why you see them in those tiny cups at the store, glupping air they are shipped in them from the breeders and never ment to live in them for long periods.
Also they JUMP make sure you have some kind of lid on yur tank! They do this to escape a polluted lower than they can even deal with environment! (yes they do live in "puddles" in the wild, but only long enough to rest and jump to the next place till they find a good spot to live! )

You can get a fish bowl; it's just that it has to be big enough for ONE (you should definitely not put more than 1 in a bowl together!!! "Betta" is also called "Siamese Fighting Fish." They will threat and kill each other, even females.) to swim around in, and you have to clean it at least once a week. When you do put new water in it, you have to let it rest first so that it cools to a right temperature. I would recommend the kind of fish tanks that filter out the water by itself so all you have to do is feed them 2-3 times everyday. Do not overfeed or else he/she will probably become ill, especially with the water turning cloudy.
If you do buy a bowl, however, you should keep it away from hot or cold air such as heaters, heater vents, cold or sunny windows, drafts, air conditioner vents, etc. It's very important that the bowl is kept at a cool temperature between 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, keep the water between 70 to 80 degrees, and don't let the temperature change too quickly. I hope this helps!

you will shorten the live of a betta dramatically, in a bowl he will live maybe for a year, but with proper care in a tank it can live up to 7 years
Because that is way to small for any fish and is not recommended, especially not for 3
For one betta you should have at LEAST a 2.5 gallon filtered and heated tank, they will be much happier and especially healthier in a bigger tank
In my opinion these small bowl should be forbidden to be sold, because it give people the wrong idea about fish keeping
Some people think that you can keep a goldfish in there, well you can't because you will stunt their growth
That means they will stop growing from the optical view, but their organs will still grow as normal, as if the fish would live in a tank that would fit for his size, and if kept in a bowl it will die a cruel death
For bettas especially, you can't keep 3 males together, and you can't keep them together mixed either, the only way to keep them together is, if you get 3 females, and there is a minimum requirement of a 10 gallon tank
Hope that helps
Good luck

You can keep 1 betta in a bowl. More then one will start to kill each other. Unless you keep all females. Then a bowl is too small for them, and you should still only keep one.
Why? Because betta's are tropical fish too, and should have a properly heated and filtered tank like any tropical fish. There are many false myths about them so they are often mistreated. If you've heard anything about how they can drown in larger tanks, it's false. If you've heard they live in puddles in the wild, it's false. If you've heard they don't need filters or heaters, it's false. If you heard they can't live with any other fish or they'll kill them, it's false (they live very well in tanks with peaceful tankmates, just not with each other, or certain flashy or territorial fish)
A proper environment for a betta to live a long life and thrive is a small tank, filtered and heated, set up with lots of plants to mimic their natural environment. You can keep one alive in a bowl if you take good care of it, but it's not ideal and he'll be able to do nothing but sit around and stare at the top of the water all its life. In a properly set up tank they are actually very active and curious fish.

First of all, keeping more than one male Betta together will get one of them killed. The problem with bowls is that the small space causes extreme stress on a fish. Also, the buildup of fish waste can lead to problems like fin rot. IF YOU INSIST on keeping Bettas in a bowl, you would need to clean it once every 3 days at least.

I've have Betas before, they are beautiful fish but don't put 2 males in the same place unless that place is pretty big.
Even though stores sell them in little tiny fish bowls, this is not healthy and definately not meant for long term. You have to have a tank for them. They need, like any other fish, oxygen which they get from the water. Oxygen does not just soak into the water on its own, its waves, bubbles on the suface and other things that promote air into this. We as humans just don't have the physical know how to convert the water we take in as oxygen to our lungs.
Anyway, DO NOT put 2 males together, they will fight to the death under any circumstance, female present or not and by the way they DO eat they're young.

thats the problem. 2-3 bettas. i hope you mean females.
But either way, a bowl isnt enoguh room for anything other than one fish, as you can rrelly have a filter on a bowl.
Bowls are ok for male bettas or a female betta, but not for more than one, frankly their is not filter and the water will get bad fast.

2-3 betta fish in one bowl is not a good idea.
Try for just one.
As of the fact betta will attack each other (especially the males) if seen. Why else would they attack there mirror?
I am only 13 and have studied fish.
(Internet wise. ^.^)

Keeping more than one betta will result in deathes. And one betta per bowl is ok, As long as you do regular water changes. a 50% water change very 2 days is anough.

I've had a beta in a bowl and it did fine. It lived for about a year or so. But have betas in separate bowls because they fight.
