Usually you miss your next period, but some people will have a light period , but be pregnant. That happened to me on my third child. If you are concerned go to the drug store and get a pregnancy test.

When you have a period, you are essentially losing your lining. When your period stops, your lining gets thick. About a week after this, you ovulate and the embryo attatches to your lining. Two weeks after this, your period is supposed to start, but it wont because you're pregnant.

Seriously, I hate to see people that know NOTHING about conception asking these questions and they might ACTUALLY be pregnant.
You get pregnant during ovulation when sperm meets the egg and implants. After this occurs you miss a period. You are already pregnant BEFORE your missed period- that's why early pregnancy tests can tell if you are pregnant days before your missed period.
Make an appointment with your obgyn to discuss the female reproductive system.
