Thousands of people support pardons for these men.

I do not necessarily agree with the ENTIRE article as have not read all links and background but this is SO WRONG!
We force them to play FOOTBALL with thugs and GUNMEN?
And when they shoot one to wound only we punish THEM for doing their job and staying alive?
WILL WE LET THEM DOWN?

We didn't punish them for doing their jobs.

We punished them for violating the law while doing their jobs.

You cannot have it both ways. If you oppose people who enter illegally, because those people broke the law, then you have to also uphold the law when someone else broke it.

Once you start making excuses -- "oh, it's ok to break the law if you meant well" -- the we've lost the rule of law, and there is no consistency and we have no leg to stand on.

I feel bad for these guys. But they broke the law. As determined by a jury of their peers. And they were sentenced according to the laws that were in effect.

So, unless you plan to give them amnesty for violating the law, the proper response is to encourage other people not to break the law, until you can get the law changed. Because if you give these guys a free pass, and tell them it's ok to break the law, then everyone starts breaking the law.

Bush should pardon them, but they should have never been there in the 1st place

AS FOR THE BLOKE THAT SAID THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT. WOULD YOU BE SAYING THE SAME IF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WERE WRONGLY IMPRISIONED FOR 10 YEARS

Stop paying taxes and bankrupt the federal government, and then the real Americans will secure the borders.
