None of my following points are exaggerations!
I live in rural Kentucky; age 21, white, male, intelligent, have a little KY accent (but not much,) almost have my Bachelor's degree, non-smoker, a little pudgy (not really noticeable,) dark curly hair (with a little trace of gray.) Great personality, too!
Over 50% of my high school classmates have ALREADY married, had a kid, or both. The others have either moved far away, have totally different interests than me, or are SO snooty! Most girls smoke, chew tobacco, or both. Most talk with very annoying accents, don't attend college, and hook up by talking about their cousins, trucks, or country music. Again, I'M NOT KIDDING!
I'm a person for Southern cities, and find this is where I connect with women the best for some reason. I have NO interest in trucks, tractors, or country music.
Should I just try to hang 10 and make the best with what I have here in KY for now? Or, should I wait till I move to Texas next year? Thanks!

The TX cities I'm considering are Ft. Worth (near Dallas, of course,) San Antonio (close to Austin,) and Houston.

I currently live in a rural area IN the Lexington metro area. I used to live in Louisville. I found the women in both cities to be sour, impolite, and b*tchy, NO MATTER how nice you try to be. The crux of the matter: Kentucky women are crap!

Race and ethnicity have no bearing on me. We're all humans, aren't we?

Okay, well you mentioned TX and being a NATIVE I'd say move to TX as soon as you can!
Houston is a large melting pot so you'll find women from, literally, all over the world. if you want to try and stick to a southern girl, I'd suggest Dallas/Plano or a smaller suburb of Houston. Austin is a college town, once again people from all over, plus a huge party town...if you're looking to party go there. Looking for serious relationship...steer clear.
You're only 21...give it time. Not everyone chooses to settle down so young.

Go live in Texas for a while. Seems like you need a change of pace. My husband and I lived there for 2 years. I would suggest Ft. Worth, not San Antonio.
If things don't work out there. Move back to KY. Don't just 'settle' for things, you're only 21. You have lots of time to try something new before you think of marriage and all the responsibilites. If you don't try, you'll always wonder ' what if '.
BUT, moving to Texas, well, women still talk about country music and things like that. Still have strong accents too, depends on what area you're in.

I heard almost the same thing from a Mississippi boy once. Twenty-one is young for the responsibilities of marriage and parenthood, so don't be in a rush.
One thing I'd recommend while you're still in Kentucky is to look a little deeper into the girls' personalities if you can. Maybe they all behave in annoying ways, but see if one or two of them, on the inside, hold similar values or interests. Even if they don't yet, maybe one would like you to introduce her to some other interests and experiences. Don't be afraid to try someone outside your age bracket. An older woman might be able to teach you some new things. A teenage girl might look up to you and be eager to learn.
Don't look at any of them as potentially "the one and only". Just enjoy the associations.
Texas might prove to be a whole new ballgame. Be as happy in KY as you can for now, then see what Texas has to offer.
Best of luck to you in love and in Texas.

I've never been to TX, but I'm sure there are plenty of girls for the picking.
Have you considered moving to a bigger city in KY? Like, Lexington, or Louisville? TX is a pretty long way from home.
I grew up in Huntington, WV, close to Ashland, KY.

Move to Austin! Now! It's the best city if you're into anything entertainment (music, movies, etc.). It's way better than silly old San Antonio, Ft. Worth, or Houston. LOTS of single women here your age :)

Don't worry about your class mates having married and started families already. I waited until I was 30. If you are going to move, I would wait. Unless, of course, you find that special someone and you decide to go together. To meet nice girls (usually), with intelligence and a sense of humor, book stores are a good place, libraries and if you have a friend whos taste you trust, go on a blind date! You never know. Keep us posted.
