OK, I get in my car at 2am leaving work and hear talk of an exectutive order signed by bush on the 17th of July that has something to do with the governments' right to seize all property and monies from anyone "helping Iraq" but it is supposed to be so loosley worded that it actually includes protesters of the war as well. Does anyone have more info on this or know where I can read this for myself?

You might be thinking of NSPD51. This is in effect makes GWB the government. He will, in case of another terrorist attack or some extreme weather event suspend the legislative and judicial branches of government by declaring martial law. This dissolves local governments and police departments. Everyone will be under the control of the federal government which will be controlled by yours truly George W. Bush. Under martial law, all vehicles, money in banks, personal property will be under the control of the government.
This is the gist of it. I would like to suggest that you download a copy of the Presidentil Directive 51-it is a 6-page document
There are all the answers to your qestion.

It's not loosely worded. It refers to specific provisions of a law enacted three years ago. The statute sets forth limitations on what can be seized applies. Also, for any assets seized (as opposed to frozen) constitutional due process still applies.

Bush just activated that particular statute. So, this is one of the few cases where what he is doing is actually legal. Whether Congress should have made it legal is a different debate.

The first link is to the executive order. The second is to the statute (509 USC 1701~1702) that the order relies on.

Bush can write all the dictatorial executive orders he wants, but we still have a constitution in this country, and I actuallly would love for him to try some of the crap implied in that executive order.

Maybe we will be lucky and get to give him the mussollini treatment.

You did no longer hear? all the Liberals, and different left-wing loons are having their sources seized. Then they are going to all be rounded up and deported to the Socialist paradise of Venezuela. That way, they could see what "good" their wacko recommendations do while they are applied without pesky Conservatives getting interior the way. interior the U.S. a sparkling era of prosperity would be ushered in, and we are going to finally be waiting to win wars without the traitors on the left giving help and convenience to the enemy. it particularly is going to likely be magnificent.

Sadly, the government already has the "right" to seize all of your assets. It came about sometime in the 90's, but was about drugs. If you were suspected of producing or selling drugs, the gov't would come in and take everything.
It's why we need our gun rights protected.

The President has issued a new Executive Order that will address the growing problem of funding insurgents in Iraq, a problem characterized as a threat to national security and foreign policy of the United States. In his message to Congress (found here at http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-4.html) the President outlines the intent of this Executive Order as thus: "My new order takes additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315 by blocking the property and interests in property of persons determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq or undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people. The order further authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, to designate for blocking those persons determined to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person designated pursuant to this order, or to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order." OMG.... thanks for the heads up.

I just read it and it gives blanket control for Bush to send Condie to your house to steal your TV if you donate to an organization that Bush doesn't like. (seriously... I can read.)

I heard something similar to what you posted. I haven't read it though. There is a gov't website that lists all executive orders written.
