i am not sayin pregnancy is an illness. so people think its right for a pregnant woman to stand and wait for a bus for a while in the pouring rain and then have someone who has just come out of a shop push in front of you and get on the bus. it did not just happen once it happens all the time. and plus u ppl think it right for a pregnant woman to stand and if the bus stops suddenly for her to fall if she is standing and land on her stomach and hurt the baby. but for an old person they will not kill a life cos that is the risk if u fall on the baby. most of the old people that have done it to use are completely mobile and fit and heatlhy. and about 60% of them a posh gits who cant be bothered to drive cos they have there free bus travel and so they think there better then ne one else. we r glad we dont live near ne of you lot cos pregnant women must not get a lot of resepct.

Yes! Many elderly people feel a sense of entitlement. I've notice that they feel excempt from standing in line, waiting their turn (even on the road which can be dangerous). Not ALL elderly people are this way but many nowadays are.
EDIT: How do you know his girlfriend was able to stand? Maybe she has a complicated pregnancy. Maybe she's been on her feet all day carrying around an extra 30 pounds. Maybe the old person was 62 but very physically fit and just didn't want to stand. Not every old person is feeble and weak.

The front of our bus is reserved for the seniors and those with disabilities. I have always given up my seat in the front of the bus for that reason. On that note, I have seen seniors give way to pregant women. I'm middle aged and a more able bodied senior gave up his seat for me when he realized I was in pain. I had just been in a car accident and my ribs and ankle were a mess. His kindness will not be forgotten.
Remember though, some infirmaties and disabilities are NOT readily apparent in the young OR the seniors, so judging on appearance only would be a mistake.
Patience and kindness are the key. We can't choose what condition we're in and at what time. Not everyone will be patient or kind, but a lot will be. I'm sorry you came across one of the rude people (they come in ALL ages), but I'm sure that you'll come across more who are kind. I certainly have.

Ah, so I'm not the only one who found the non-lovable minority. At the end of the day, mate, they're just people. You got more important issues to think about than bus seats. But I have seen the odd few who seem to think they rule the planet. It's just a case of knowing that wisdom doesn't come with age, it's a career choice.
Not all of the elderly are like that, though. Just keep an open mind, and do the manly thing. Announce that your girlfriend is pregnant. Perhaps a seat will magically appear.

Please do not lump all older people into this pool...most of us are just the same as you, just been around a lot longer. I, too, have run into (occasionally, would like to run OVER) a few of these buzzards, but by and large, we are a great bunch. Forgive those who are rude or aloof, they really may live in tremendous pain and pain can make people someone they are not...I would never push in front of a woman, let alone a pregnant woman. And yes, I offer a seat to a lady, regardless of pregnancy or un. Most of us do.... BUT, you have lumped all together, and that is RUDE and Arrogant on your part. Do you lump all your age as the same????? no, I didn't think so. Well, stop do the same to us!

You shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush. There are good and bad of all ages. What will your attitude be like if you reach old age, I wonder. Will you still be arrogant and rude. Pregnancy is not an illness or a disability. Have a more respect and understanding for others and you may find you receive some respect in return.

I think the front seats are reserved for anyone with disability and I think that includes a pregnant woman. I am a pensioner and I avoid using those seats out of prides sake. The objection is when very young people use those seats making the elderly stand.
