Sunderland is a seaside town so its always been right on my doorstep, figuratively speaking. Literally for my sister's first married home, I used to love to go and stay with her, Roker was just a road-crossing away.
However, when you know you can go anytime, the novelty does wear off a bit and I haven't been since February when my sister came to visit, she now lives 30 miles from the coast and must go at least once a visit.

I live in Eastbourne which is a seaside resort on the south coast of England. The seafront is less than half a mile from my house. I do know what you mean about not bothering about going to the sea. I have lived here for sixteen years now and have only been swimming in the sea once in all that time. I do regularly walk along the seafront, in fact I did today.

England is sooooo small, how can any one live 30 mile from the coast?
I can walk to the beach from my place. Takes about 30 min. We take our dog to the doggy beach at least once a fortnight; she loves it. Doesn't matter what time of the year it is or how cold, she just runs straight in.
We was the last time you went for a swim?
It's summer; do it now, go and have a swim!
You'll get 10 points!
Honest. Yahoo is watching, using Google Earth and they can see what you're doing!

I live 1 mile from the gulf of Mexico in a beautiful city by the sea Corpus Christi, Texas.I was born here, and i will die here.I like you could care less about the beaches and we have several beautiful ones.First, off I wouldn't put a bathing suit on it would be eye pollution deluxe, and I can't stand the sand on and in ever thing. I do love to fish and we have ever kind you could think of.I would love to see the mountains with snow. It's hell to live in paradise.

The nearest sea to where I live is about 50 minutes drive away. The nicest beaches and sea are at West Wales and that's about 1 1/2 hours drive away. It's further to go, but well worth it.

I used to live in Manchester and would go the the coast all summer long. Now I live in Colorado, USA and it is a two day drive, about 1500 miles. I miss it soooo much.

About 45 mins drive away. Which is good because its not so close that i have the petrol or time to go every week, and not too far that i have to plan for it and can only go like a couple of times a year. Mind you its only Hunstanton - not very exciting!
