Sacrifice is not thinking before helping others, compromise is trying to help others after thinking of yourself.
Don't get me wrong though, compromise is good

solution equitable to both, His part then becomes sacrifice.

when the person for whom you are making the compromise does not appreciate what you are doing and therefore seems all that you did had been pointless and to no avail. good luck.
