My best friend of 13 years has a boyfriend who I just cannot stand and they have been together for 5 years. (they are both 22) She knows that I don't like him. He is such a loser, I could go on and on about the bad way he treats her. But my friend has low self esteem and doesn't think she can get anyone else.

What will I do some day when she says they are getting married? I can't be all "yay my best friend is geting married!!!!!!!!!!" I dislike this guy soooo much and I want what is best for my friend, and its not him. Anybody had a similar experience?

ok, i had a similar exp. but i was in ur fren's shoes!
nearly all my frens dislike my bf (of that time) and they did bring up the issue to me.. yes, i was like ur fren too.. low self-esteem. i once hated my friends bcoz they dislike my bf! things they said doesnt seems to get into my brain!

But there's one day, when one of my boy fren approached me (after i had a fight with my bf) and told me in a very serious manner that i worth a better guy..
things started to change then.. i totally got no idea why i listened to him.. and why his words actually went into my BRAIN! well.. i think u shud give it a try!

but the risk is, u might lost her!
well, sound more serious instead.. talk to her personally in a quiet room or park... and make her THINK!
i am sure u dont want her to have regrets in her life ryte?

all da best!

Jake L, the fact of live is that it's not your call on who your friends sees. If she is happy with this fella then let her be. If he is abusive to her then you can try and talk to her and see if she wants help seeking out safety. But if she is not and you just dislike him because as you stated he is a loser, perhaps this is only your opinion and not your friends. If she is happy in her relationship then try and be happy that she has someone with whom to share life with. If the day does ever come when they decide to walk down the aisle it would be in everyone's best interest if you were happy for her as this will be her big day so why put a damper on it.
