I'd say they had a strong sex drive to begin with. Plus just like regular movies there are breaks. But editing gives the appearance of prolonged sex.
Just like everything else in the media it's mostly for show. Not much real substance. There are a few that can go that long but it's more the fantasy than fact.

Ah, my friend, you've been misled as have so many others by the magic of Hollywood. Because when you get right down to it, porn is created in exactly the same way that any other movie is. None of the action is filmed in real time--it's filmed in sections and then spliced together in the editing room. The action may have been filmed over the course of a day, or even a few days with rest breaks in between. OK.. first of all you need to understand that in porn movies, they film Sean's... and they stars, do a lot of start and stops! so when you see the finished film, you are seeing it from the point of one act of sex...when in fact it took hours to film many points and angels of the movie. So they don't last any longer then anyone else.. they just have more starts and stops during the act of sex.

When i 1st moved to London i did a couple of movies and they take ages to film so you always have to stop and start and it is hard to concentrate when you have a camera man there with the producer. With it being a bit off putting it makes it hard to come.

They don't,there are different scenes combined that give you an impression they keep going for so long.
