My boyfriend leans it on the keyboard all day (I have to type around it, it makes it really hard to get at the middle letters) but his wrist isn't affected at all - it's when he isn't leaning it on the keyboard that the problem starts...

Not if you have correct posture. Only the tips of your fingers should touch the keyboard and you should keep a straight back whilst typing.

You can get rests for your wrists but they are for wimps. My typing teacher at school didn't advocate them and I was taught on huge manual typewriters that you really did need effort to operate.

Yes. I have carpal tunnel syndrome for many years of typing and using my wrists and hands to paint, draw and doing arts and crafts. Not a fun feeling-ouch!

It used to, but I think that is because my posture was wrong and I was unused to typing. Now that my job is desk-based and I use the computer a lot at home my wrists are much stronger.

No, because I use the board in such a way the my elbow is higher than my wrist and when using the board also I sue my hand in a way that I don't twist my hand to type. Hand is free floating when typing.

Yes I noticed the carpal tunnel when I try to make my quota
of answers in a day. So yahoo very kindly gives us two points, and we get a damaged arm nerve. Sounds fair to me.

when you type your wrist is slightly lifted and after a long time those muscles start to cramp giving you an ache.
