I'm a die-hard Mets fan, but I also like the Red Sox and I sometimes wonder why Bill Buckner got all of the blame for blowing game 6. If it weren't for Stanley's wild pitch, The ball between Buckner's legs would have only been the tying run.

There were a LOT of plays that lead up to THE play of the ball going through Buckner's legs. Calvin Schiraldi giving up 3 straight singles with 2 outs, (to Carter, Mitchell, and Knight), Stanley's WP, and then the game ending gaffe by Buckner.

Still, I was at the Red Sox home opener in 1990 and Bill Buckner got a standing ovation from the crowd when his name was announced, (as he was coming back to the Sox for the last 22 games of his career that season from KC)...

Oh.... And yankeejet1410... I am sorry to see that you're STILL not over the Yankees' collapse to the Red Sox in 2004...

Because Buckner missed what should have been an easy ground ball. He could have at least knocked it down and kept it in front of him, but you can't let a ball like that go through your legs.

Cause Sox fans r stupid. They'll blame anybody, and since they're so stupid, they blame the wrong people. Grady Little, Bill Buckner, It's a pattern.
