In the UK, helmets were made compulsory in 1973. Three years later in 1976 followers of the Sikh religion wearing turbans were officially exempted from the law, so strictly speaking it is not compulsory for all, just most of us!

Of course you do, a turban is very thin cloth. It will do nothing to protect you in the event of a crash. To my knowledge there is not helmet designed for turban users. It's worth taking it off to be safe. As far as your make is concerned, in the US you are not required to wear a helmet if you are over 21 years old. If you are under, it is the law that you wear one.Good Luck!

The year the first rider fell and busted his head open. Actually I think it was different in each state. California may have started it in early 70's and then other states followed. Here in Ohio they eventually dropped it when the powers that be realized that no more riders in non-helmet law states were being killed than here. I say let the rider decide but they should decide to wear one because they have a better chance of surviving an accident if they are wearing one.
