You have a coin from Belgium, Leopold II ruled from 1865-1909. The legend Der Belgen is in the Dutch language. Looks like the only small copper coin minted in 1887 is the centime. On looking further the other denominations in copper were not minted that year. It is not a scarce date and few collect low denominations of world coins except the people in that country. To a Belgian it has value, to a U.S. collector it does not. It is however the start of a one from each country collection. Dealers in the U.S. sell it for .10 to .25 cents.
