I have used it for 5 years and have never had a problem or virus

From personal experience AVG Free Edition works very well. It is for all intents and purposes a 'basic' antivirus tool, covering file scanning/access e-mail access etc.
I do not know of another free AV program.

I've used AVG Free for about 3 years now on two computers, both heavily used and on the internet for extended periods daily, without a single virus infection.
I think it's brill!

AVG is THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS program that you can run on your computer, whether paid or not! I own a computer repair business, use their products, and have seen first-hand instances where two other leading-named programs (McAfee & Norton) gave conflicting results without being able to solve the problem and AVG solved that tough job immediately! That's my advice.
