What are your thoughts on overpopulation?

I just answered a question on illegal immigration in which I mentioned overpopulation. I am curious what some of your thoughts are in this subject. I truly believe that it is a huge problem in this country. Yes it is great that we are healthier and living longer because of modern medicine, but cities are getting so congested and suburban sprawl is ruining our beautiful land. If the population continues to rise so rapidly we will continue to lose our forests and there will be no nature left! What should be done about this? Also, what are your thoughts on limiting the amount of children that Americans can have?

I'm wondering if my question was misinterpreted? I simply wonder what can be done about overpopulation.
I do find it sad that some of you are concerned about whites becoming the minority. Why is that a big deal? We aren't going to care what color people are when we are having to fight them for food.

it depends on what you consider the value of life. Im sure that we could cram many billions more people onto the earth, before we all starve to death or die from some mass epedemic. But the quality of life has already been dropping. I dont care that we are healthier or living longer, on average, people are losing sight of what makes life worth living, and that isnt making as much money as you can putting up millions of houses and parking lots and junk so you can put a fence around what used to be beautiful wildland to keep others out as a sign of your status. I think things should be built underground, and if people have any more than two kids they get taxed a huge amount on all their kids, and the child credit should be repealed for the first two also.

You have been learning from reading. But be mindful that 80-90% of all news agencies personnel vote Democrat.
This tends to taint their views of what really happens like the "accident" that almost befell Bush while jogging.
The irony is part of the non=accident nature of this so-called accident. But I digress a mite, just a "mite", The news hounds relate that 1/2 of the world's population lives in cities and that is where illegals choose to hide. There they get aid and comfort, buy bicycles until they can get an old wreck to drive without insurance, registration or a valid license. It is true that the better one's schooling/grades, the better you drive. Illegals freq. drive intoxicated and bail out it they make an accident to FLEE.

We should never limit the amount of children we can have, but we should consider the quality of life we will have for our children, and I do not think that unlimited immigration being it legal or illegally would be the thing to do for our quality of life for our country. One thing that seems to be missing in this amnesty debate is who is going to decide what the immigration policy is going to be. Do we not as a country have the right to decide what is best for us, and not the illegals that just show up and then demands what's best for themselves, the wants and needs of the American people be damned

You should educate yourself before making blanket statements. Look up the demographics of Middle America. The population in large cities have increased because of immigration and high birth rates of immigrant families.
Whites are decreasing because their repopulation is below what they need.

I dont feel there is a problem with over population. The Chinese have lived with it for centuries and they seem to manage. The US just crossed the 300 million mark a few months ago and we increase about 6.3 million annually. There is plenty of food but poorer people tend to spend all their money on cigarettes and beer rather than food for their kids. I feel sorry for the kids in these families. If Americans would stop all their stupid habits kids wouldnt starve here in America. But I still feel there is lots of room in America for the people we have. Politics is the problem not population.

I think Americans don't actually consider just how hard it is to make a living these days. Couple that fact with the business of having children and inadequate minimum wages, increasing families is not a good choice when birth control ought to be!

Over-population wouldn't be an issue if there was an end to the monopoly of the worlds markets held by a very few who have brought it by ways and means to your attention through the education system.
