in early pregnancy, before, say 14 weeks, is it possible that the fetus dies but there is no bleeding, nothing to signal to her that the fe tus diedd? (i know it's not called a fetus efore something weeks). i know one of the first signs of miscarriage is bleeding, but i was just wondering if a say 6 or 9 week old "fetus" dies, can it just be dead there forever until she goes for an ultrasound? what if she doesn't get prenatal care and she doesn't go for an ultrasound?

thanks

i think your body pushes it out and it is supposed to be very clotty. that is what i have been told. i really doubt the fetus will just stay there. your body knows and does what it is supposed to do to get the fetus out.

This is actually quite common. My fourth pregnancy ended in miscarriage. The baby died at twelve weeks, the ultrasound discovered this at thirteen weeks and I had to have a D&C at fourteen weeks to remove the fetus since my body wasnt doing it on its own. A dead fetus can remain in the uterus indefinitely so if a woman isn't getting prenatal care she may not know something is wrong for quite some time.

It got here approximately to me -- with my first 2 losses. it particularly is stated as a missed miscarriage or missed abortion (quiet down people, abortion being the scientific term for a being pregnant that ends and not utilising a stay start). I had 0 warning signs that something became incorrect -- no recognizing, no longer something. With the 1st, it became already long previous a month previously i found out via an ultrasound. on an analogous time as I went to my D&C, I nevertheless had morning affliction. My physique merely did no longer comprehend that something became incorrect yet. no longer precisely poof thus. via ways, there's a distinction between a missed miscarriage/missed abortion and a blighted ovum. With a blighted ovum, the sperm and egg meet and strengthen somewhat, adequate to get the hormones going with all the being pregnant warning signs, yet while there is an ultrasound there is an empty sac the place a visual fetus could be. With a missed miscarriage/missed abortion there's a visual fetus in there. In the two case, the female will in all probability want a D&C -- it may take weeks for the physique to expel it needless to say.

Usually your body knows what's happened and takes the nessicary steps. Though there are medications as well as minor surgery to remove what's left from a miscarriage.

Some other symptoms are:
Cramps
Abdominal pain
Fever
Weakness
Vomiting
Back pain

Talk to a doctor. That's your safest bet, because if you did have a miscarriage, there may be reason for YOU to get medical help (infections, toxic exposure, kidney/liver problems)

Actually yes- the fetus is reabsorbed into the mothers body. This would happen really early in pregnancy- before the mother knows she is pregnant. Think: vanishing twin. It happens there too.

If the baby isn't reabsorbed- the body will expel it- and there will be bleeding. Your body has natural defense mechanisms- if something is not suppossed to be there- your body will get rid of it and hence bleeding. In rare instances, this does not occur- but it is rare.

It is possible and is referred to as an imcomplete miscarriage. Normally the body will eventually take care of this, but sometimes nature requires a little intervention.

If you believe this has happened to you or someone you know, a doctor should be notified immediately for an examination and possible D&E (dilation and extraction).

With a face like that you could! LOL Maybe if she mistaken it for a regular menstrual cycle or something. I can't imagine just go to the doctors and get everything checked out!

No, your body would expel the miscarriage. If it didn't you would get a severe infection. Most women who miscarry do bleed on their own, sometimes however a d&c is required.

The body always cleans it self thats why girls get periods, if the fetus is dead the body will discharge it, so yeah there will be bleeding and sometimes cramping.
