I would like to provide a constant source of food for my 2 turtles by growing water plants. I have a red ear slider turtle and an easter musk turtle in a 55 gallon tank. What types of plants are easiest and/or faster-growing? What do I need to have/put in my tank in order for them to grow successfully?

I use an aquatic plant called Anachris with my turtles. Not only do they nibble on it but it digests turtle waste, keeping your tank cleaner and clearer for a longer period of time. It can be found in almost any pet store that sells aquarium supplies and requires nothing special in order to survive. it will need to be replaced from time to time as it yellows or your turtles eat it.
Arrow head pothos is a good choice also, found in any garden shop. It grows very quickly, requires no special care and they can eat it without harm.

Creeping Jenny might be a good choice for you. Its a pretty plant and grows quickly. It will grow in water alone, water saturated sand or soil, or in ordinary soil. And it comes in a variety of leaf shapes and colorations.
