I didn't have a period for 6 months. There is nothing to worry about. Is it safe to take birth control and breast feed?

I breastfed my son for a year after he was born. I didn't have a period until he was almost 10 months old, then had one and went for another 2 months till I had one again.
I have missed periods on the pill. If you haven't had one by the time you would normally expect to have a 2nd one then talk to a doctor.
You can miss for all kinds of reasons, including stress, poor nutrition, and heavy exercise like body building or mrathon training.

Yes, it is normal to have no period or rare and light periods when breast feeding a baby ... there is a chemical, oxytocin, that the body puts out when the baby is sucking on the teat ... that causes the uterus to shrink up, and go to a state where it 'can't get pregnant' ... which is why some women who nurse must stop nursing if they want another child. YOU CAN GET PREGNANT while nursing, though ... it is just 'far more rare' than when you aren't pregnant.

Yes. It is normal to not start having a period until your baby starts on solid food. Nurse for at least 6 mo. A year would be better. Mother's milk is so much healthier for the baby. Do not drink alcoholic beverages or take drugs because it will be passed on to the baby through your milk. Enjoy this time to relax and bond with your baby. You are giving him/her a gift no one else can.
