The design is the perfection of an idea.

That's a good question. I would say the idea personally, as the idea or concept is what really makes something new and interesting in today's advertising or design industry. Having said that however the two things are inter-linked which makes it hard to say where perfection comes from. You can have a perfect concept but a **** design or vice versa.

But for me I would lean more towards perfection coming from concept. "Concept is king, without it everything is just bullshit pretty pictures" (Quoted by Slick - Juxtapose #75).

There is only perfection in God's designs. Humans are a little flawed. We may believe we have the perfect idea and attempt to design it perfectly but there is always some flaw, some room for error.

Nothing is perfect, although I think that there can be elegance in both design and notions.

A "perfect" design or idea is one that is elegant/simple. The more complicated or less than perfect a design or idea is, the less manageable and reasonable that it becomes.

Limited to your 2 choices, the idea is likely "perfection". The quest for perfection though is the discontentment or dissatisfaction for those ideas and designs that do exist.

Perfection is almost always in the idea...that's why so many people end up being disappointed.. their design doesn't add up to their perfect idea.

I would think that perfection would be the design that realizes the idea and takes it from being mere theory and into something more concrete.
