Why do women today feel that showing cleavage, belly buttons and thigh is a sign of beauty? You rarely see men half naked. Men wear sensible clothing - flat shoes, cotton underwear and socks (as opposed to nylon or synthetic fibers like women wear) and long sleeve shirts and pants. Women, on the other hand, complain that they're freezing but they will wear something low cut, backless or mini. Are women stupid or what?

I believe that most women show off their body parts because they have a very low self-esteem. They really don't value themselves. They feel that showing cleavage, butt, thighs, and belly buttons would give them the attention that they desire from men. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. It is an inward issue going on that is expressed outwardly. I don't think that they are stupid...I believe that they're some internal issues going on that needs to be dealt with. Maybe they have been told all of their lives that they weren't going to amount to anything, their ugly, etc. Additionally, the media portrays a sexy women to be provocative, when the sexiness starts within.

Well, it seems that you have a strong opinion about the subject. I have always felt that if you are confident about your body, than you have a right to show it off. That does not mean walking around half naked all the time is okay, but showing come cleavage, or wearing tight fitted clothes to show off your figure is quite alright and accepted in society today. It is a matter of feminism and sexuality. Showing a bit makes a woman feel sexy and confident.

It has to do with power. Women are taught through society and the media that our bodies are our most valuable assets and contributions. Men's assets are not reduced to this superficial aspect, so they don't NEED to compete with their looks. It's why it's women who are terrified to look old or gain weight or be in any way different from popular media images. It's why so many women hate their own bodies and expend so much energy and effort to look one certain way. Our bodies have been sexualized in ways that male bodies have not.
Why have women worn corsets, bound their feet, whitened their skin, gotten breast implants, wear high heels, etc.?
Bashing women doesn't help women, BTW. Why not explore the broader implications of this trend instead?

no they are not stupid. there is good reason why a man needs to cover up. a man's body is not a work of art, it is lumpy and hairy and should not be seen in the light of day. a woman's body is beauitful, and if she has a good self image, she will like to show it off. don't even BEGIN to compare men to woman. long sleeve shirts, cotton underwear, flat shoes, do you like your woman looking like men or something?
anyways men should not flatter themselves into believing that woman dress sexy for men. they do it for themselves and to show off wat a nice bod they got. men have nothing to show off. i rarely see a man who has an amazing body with ripped muscles n stuff.

women are not stupid, they fall into the "or what" category. they are preening. the female of the human species is the one that attracts a mate, and then chooses the mate she wants. in the animal world the makes have to attract a mate, and then accept the female that chooses them.
