-will a weather loach do well in a tank with two gold barbs, and two clown loaches?
-"Weather Loaches will eat anything thatll fit in their mouth" - article. is this true? (if my gold barbs are small enough will the weather loach devour it? )
-My clown loaches are still antisocial with me compared with the two gold barbs who actually appeare to enjoy my presence, will the weather loach be the same was the clown loach??
(ive had the clown loach for about...2 months now.
-"Weather loaches have dissapeered in the past, but are now back, double the price" - article.
if so, how much are they now?
-(i want a fish thats unique looking, yet VERY interesting in personality).
Can i treat the Weather loach as if its a tropical fish? temperature and all.
-Will aquarium salt and heat be okay for the weather loach? (im trying to prevent diseases)

In order:
1. Sure, the weather locah should be just fine in the tank assuming you have room for him.
2. Yes, that is true and if the Gold barbs are small enough he will eat them, but that's very unlikely.
3. Yes, the weather loach will act much like the clowns do and for the most part seem to ignore you.
4. I have seen them off and on for most of the time I have kept fish (30+ years) and I don't thing the price has jumped any more quickly than it has for many other fish. I see them for around $2.99 - 3.99, but that's going to vary depending on where you are.
5. Yes, you can treat the weather loach as a tropical fish. It will accept a wide range of temperatures.
6. Yes, salt in normal medicinal levels is just fine. That is up to about 1 tablespoon per gallon. Keep the temperature below about 85F on the average and he will be ok. That said, I would caution against using high heat and high levels of salt to prevent disease. It doesn't really work that way at all. Keeping a 0.1% solution ( about 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons) is just fine and will help with a number of potential problems such as fungus, but I wouldn't advise keeping a level higher than that on a regular basis unless the fish need high salt such as mollies, archers, Monos, scats etc.
Put me down as a nope for the cottage cheese. Not high on my list at all. In short, no, it's not good :P
Feel free to email me if I can help further

They will be fine together if you have a tank that is about 100 gallons. Clown Loaches get more than a foot long and will die if not kept in groups of 5+ in a tank large enough to support them. Instead, try Yo-yo Loaches, they are very similar to Clown Loaches, except they only get about 4 inches.
Your Barbs are fine. They are too fast for the Weather Loach and he wouldn't attempt to eat them anyway. If you get him a sinking pellet, he will be thoroughly fed.
The reason the Clown Loaches are antisocial is because there are only 2 of them. They are very insecure fish that require large groups. Also, I think I remember you having a 10 gallon tank. This is far too small for an active, schooling, large fish. You will have to give away yorur Clowns and get 3 Yo-yo Loaches (you could get other fish, but it is NESSECARY to get rid of the Clowns). The Weather Loach is very social, it won't hide from you once it gets to know you.
They are less than $5 at Petco and Petsmart, but keep in mind, those are lower quality fish. At a good pet store, it could cost about $10 max.
You can, but it will not be as healthy. If you want a fish that looks similar to the Weather Loach (except is tropical), you should look at Kuhli Loaches. They have orange and black stripes and look like a Clown Loach if it was an eel. Keep Kuhlis in groups of 3+ and they will be more active.
Heat is a problem with Weather Loaches (not Kuhlis though). Weather Loaches are coldwater fish, so heat could mess with them. Aquarium salt is not a big problem.
Cottage Cheese has no taste, it is kind of like eating flavorless oatmeal... yuck.
Good luck with the fish and the cottage cheese!

-the first thing = no aquarium salt.
Clown loaches are scaleless fishes, so salt is never a good idea with clown loaches.
-Weather loaches are very capible of living with tropical fishes, they can handle the high temps.
-There is no truth behind the no weather loach and double the price. While that store might of not of had any, oher stores do. Weather loaches are not endangered. The double price just comes from supply and demand.
- Clown loaches like to be in a school, so they like to be together. No worrys about aggression.
- I havent found weather loaches to eat smaller fish, while it may happen, chances are that it wont.
- The problem is your tank is overloaded. while we dont know your gallon size, clown laoches will fill up most tanks.
Dont forget that clown loaches arent small fishes, while they have slow growth rates, they will get over 12 inches long. since they like to school you will need a big tank for one let alone a school.
So you really should be looking at something over 100 gallons
