May- usually warm. ran range to upper 50s - 70s!
it's New England, ... so it's so unpredictable!
bring layers
light jackets, sweatshirts, short sleeve shorts, shorts, 1 or 2 jeans, if yuo wear a skirt, have like those spandex/ stockings/ tights to wear under, that way you'll be warm enough but if it gets hot you can easily go to the bathroom and take them off. bring kapris!!!!
kapris/bermuda shorts will probably be really helpful. a lot of new englanders wear them because they're so useful! maybe comfortable flipflops, if it's easy to walk around in.
also, may CAN be a rainy season. bring comfortable shoes, maybe more than 1 pair incase it's raining. always want to be prepared! bring a wind jacket/rain jacket. when you go out for the "day" (i'm guessing all your clothes will be in a hotel), bring a backpack with maybe extra socks, a a rain jacket or wind breaker if it's not raining that morning, maybe a light pair of sweatpants incase your original ones get wet from rain, and snacks for the bus ride!)
once again, weather is unpredictable! so be ready for rain or shine!
hope this is helpful!

Changeable and unpredictableis the best description. Because of its location adjacent to an ocean but below eastern Canada it tends to get fast changes in weather.
May tends to be seasonably good. This year it had a lot of the rain that is typical just for April but dry is more to be expected. By about June there could be spells of extreme heat but again May typically avoids that. Snow has occurred in early May (sometimes significant) but that too is freaky.
May is a good choice. Wear summery clothes but bring sweater or sweatshirt just in case. Don't believe any weather info from the evening news. They always predict bad weather incorrectly ("Volcanic eruption expected. Stay tuned to this station for details at 11")

I lived outside Boston for about 6 years. May is really lovely in Massachusetts. Temps are generally comfortable, never hot, occasionally cool, rarely downright cold. You will want/need a sweater or jacket in the evenings. While spring often brings rain, there are not unusually large amounts of rain in May. But there are some rainy days. It is, along with September, one of the nicest months in Boston.

May can be variable, but should be very nice. Generally weather in the 60's and sunny, but can be hotter or cooler. . .The thing is, because it's spring time, you always will have a chance of showers. This past May the weather was VERY mild and we had lots of temps in the 70's and even a few days in the 80's but that is not common!

This is New England. There's no "exact". It could be beautiful, sunny, and in the 60s. It could be hot, hazy, humid, and in the 90s. There's a reason they say "If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a minute". It changes a lot. May usually isn't particularly rainy, and is usually one of the more pleasant months. Lots of flowers, lots of new growth, and usually very comfortable time of year.

You really have some great answers. May is a transition month...be prepared. Bring layers. Be prepared for rain and humidity...and over the course of a week you can expect varierty from day to day. When you leave your hotel for the day, always remember...layers and rain gear! Best time to be in Boston!

It can really vary in May here. It's probably the best month though, even though it's unpredictable. It could be chilly and rainy (high of 50) or it could be 90 and really hot. Probably neither extreme, but it could happen.
