Hi,

The first thing I would recommend is that you get good training. You might be able to get an agent, but you also want to be able to keep him/her and get sent out on lot of auditions.

I answer questions like this a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created a 28-page ebooklet that answers pretty thoroughly the part of your question that you didn't ask, but should have.
Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.

The second resource you'll want to look at that really answers your question as you asked it is: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time.

Just remember that getting an agent will most probably not answer all your prayers. You still have to do your share. Remember that the agent only gets 10% of the take, so in my opinion, a good attitude to have is that YOU have to do 90% of the work to make sure you get seen. If it turns out that your agent is getting you a lot of auditions, then great, but don't count on it. And that, my friend, is why I answered the first part of this question the way I did. You need a lot of other things if you are in this for the long haul!

Hope this helps!

the best way that i can think of is to :
Join a local theatre company, or audition for a part in an amateur production.- There might be agents there
get some portfolio pictures done and get some references from those who have worked with you in the past and use these to apply to an acting agency.

Its all about working your way up - instant stardom is few and far between

Look it up on the internet. Go to Find-stuff.com-into acting. But I can't garantee that you'll get famous. I've always wanted to become an actress but no one in my family knows. My brother said that he wanted to be an actor, but I never told any one because my brother is big on the, "Copying" Factor which I think is stupid, but since then I've told them I want to be a singer, So While my brother goes to a performing arts school for acting, I go to that school for music, but I use the web to help my acting career, so, yeah! But It was dumb how I just told you my information when you wanted an answer to your question, just try my site! Or look up agents in your area on a search engine like yahoo or google.

You can't get an agent. You need training and experience first. Would you ask for a job as a carpenter if you'd never held a hammer?

If you have friends that know a bit Russian language, then you can easily participate in several movie projects lead by real professionals and producers:

Click for instance on the banner "Весёлые детки" and you will see some photos from movie set:

You must have performed, many roles, leading roles in particular, in theater in your city, or the local community theater.
