This depends on what the floor is and where it is, also if there is any thing to go on top like floor tiles, etc. this is very importaint as concreate has to breath the same as any floor covering and if it does not it will sweat and end up smelling of dampness. You will also need a staberlizer in the mix if the floor is going to be used on a regulare walking surface. It is not just a matter of throwing cement mix down and hopeing it will do. Making a floor is a little bit more than that. If you simply put cement down you will soon find that the serface will start to turn to powder, and brake up. May I surgest going to a builders murchantce and ask for advice they will tell you what extra ingrediants to add to the mix to get the perfect floor for the job.
Sorry about spelling, HOPE THIS HELPS.

Good concrete mix would be 3 x sand, 2 x stones, 1 x cement. If it is a finished floor in a house you would be best use only a sand and cement mix.

a good mix is 6.3.1 that is six of gravel....three of sharp sand ...and one of cement ..and before you all shout its too weak remember cement should be added by weight not volume ..if you weigh six shovels of gravel and three shovels of sharp sand ..and then add one ninth of the combined weigth in cement then ..that will make a good mix ..you could go down to six to one ..but that would be very strong

Of course you can, I just had 1100 square feet of patio tiled over the concrete, just make sure who ever does it lays down the right foundation or material over any cracks or large dividing lines. This will allow for the concrete to expand or crack without cracking the tile.
