i feel the closest to God 3 ways-
1. when i'm in my tree. God has shown me so many things up there, good and bad, and i can always concentrate on Him there. and His presence there is especially strong there because of all the memories.
2. at a camp- where He changed my life forever.
3. when He shows me things that i never would have thought- or never would have thought to actually come true, things that i've been praying for (or for not to happen) for ages and ages, when i'm either heartbroken or overjoyed.
nothing can make me feel far away from God, He's always there with me. i can't remember ever feeling seperated since i came to Him. but there's always a first time i guess... hopefully not.

I never, ever feel entirely disconnected. I feel closest when times are very rough and I need God the most. I rely on Him. I feel farthest when I am busy with life, and this is something I have to work on to do better.

I feel closest to God when I lift His people in His presence and share His presence with His people. Paradoxically I feel farthest from God when He's closest to me (St. John of the Cross calls this the dark night of the soul). I don't know that I'm ever entirely disconnected, although there have been times I've almost cut myself off to my shame. His mercy and forgiveness are great.

The closest I have felt to God was when I received the holy ghost. lately is the farthest. I sure hope I haven't disconnected entirely. maby itl get better in 2 weeks when I buy a house and can move off the couch of the worldly gay guy that has kept me off the street for the past year.

I think I feel closest to God in the early morning. I get up around 5 AM, get my coffee and go out to feed the birds and squirrels. I sit there afterwards just watching in the peace and quiet and talking to God. It's our special time together. The farthest I've felt is when my Mom was in the hospital and not expected to live. It's always like that when someone I love is sick or hurt. But I fix it by finding the hospital chapel and spending some time in prayer, asking that his will be done. It always renews my spirit. Mom came thru that episode thru God's grace. He did finally take her some years later, but she was ready and so was the family. Now she is in His loving arms and we are all assured of seeing her again.

God is always at my side, as I have asked God to be.
I feel closest to God when I am in nature, completely still and silent, when I am in turmoil, when I am in pain, when I have the worst times of my life. This is when I feel closest to God.
I am at my farthest when I know in my heart I am not following the given path which God has set forth for me. I know this because I feel it within my heart.
I was never disconnected completely, I actually feel like a cord ties us together, God and me, and I will never let it be severed, and it can not be, as God is in my heart by my choosing.
Blessings and love,
Bess

I have always felt the presence of the Almighty as I always say, but at night when I retire to my Bedroom and before I start my Prayers, I can feel a strong presence in the room with me, and I always have a feeling that the Lord is with me, and he will hear what I have to say to him and I know that he is doing Justice for my Grandson, because we have seen a lot of chaos, with the Violence, and killings of a lot of men from the Police Dept. This has been going on since the Death, of my Grandson. They were to blame for his Death, but you cannot do anything when you are an American citizen, because we do not have any rights, in a foreign, Country.

Every breath I breathe = I feel closer to God because God is allowing me to take one more. I am greedy and I take as many as I want and yet God still gives me more.
You should never feel far away from God because if God is placing upon you a challenge, it is to test you and bring you closer but not to distance you from Him. A challenge is an opportunity. Those that don't give up get to plant the banner on top. Those that choose otherwise get knocked down by the rocks.

I feel closest to God when I experience beauty (in nature, the sunrise or sunset, animals, in someone's eyes, in music, art, kindness). These things make me happy to be alive. I feel furthest from him when surrounded by ugliness (in the city, at work, pollution, garbage, cruelty, violence). These things make it hard to get through the day. I think the further we get from nature and beauty and creativity then the more disconnected and stressed and unhappy we become.

As we struggle with sin in our daily lives, there is indeed that sense of feeling distant from God. Much to His Glory we have Jesus who stretches out his hand so we may come close together again with Him. Sadly enough, those who are disconnected are the ones who don't care...
